Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the U.K.

Given that the Australian census indicates that No Religion  and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?"

It is not surprising that there is a surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

Coobowie Baptist church was built in 1875 a year before the Coobowie Methodist church. Was unable to locate any other info on this church although I do know it was built when my ancestor Mr George Plumber was one of the earliest pioneers to live in Coobowie. Today it is a private dwelling and I spoke to the owner who has given permission for this cache to be placed outside her property and knows where it is placed. If you get a chance to talk to Bernadette she is happy to tell you a bit about the use of the church. It was used as a school and a storage building for hay prior to being converted into a home. Her husband is a stone mason and has built a building left of the Church into accomodation for family when visiting. Apparently she quite often talks to tourists who stop to read a sign out side the property and admire the old church. You are looking for a micro container log only. You can still see some of the original structures around the property . No need to enter the property.
