HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In celebration of a fresh new year ahead, local geocachers have hidden hundreds of hides around Southeastern Michigan for the
HNY20 - 11th Annual Geocaching Breakfast Event GC8CZ63.
This particular series (9 WEST and 9 EAST) are brought to you by Team TaCat (TaGeez and Scrapcat)
The title is a play on words - each cache is hidden on or around East 9 Mile or West 9 Mile and there are 9 caches along each stretch.
In consideration of the Winter cachers, each cache should be relatively simple and Winter-Friendly.
However, this area around Ferndale is a people-rich environment so stealth is a must!
A VERY EASY PUZZLE
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. The puzzle, however, is.
Using your GPS, go to the coordinates. You will see a very noticeable sign (trust me - it's noticeable!). The sign has 1 number, 2 letters, and a 6-letter word. Based on the word, which statement below is true? The coordinates next to the true statement is the final location of the container.
- One of the five Iroquois tribes of North America - N 42 27.607 W 083 10.069
- The name of a lunar crater and an asteroid - N 42 27.607 W 083 10.069
- A village in Manhattan displaced to create Central Park - N 42 27.607 W 083 10.069
- Largest of New York's Finger Lakes - N 42 27.607 W 083 10.069
- Originally a yacht built in Boston, it was commissioned as a US Navy Minesweeper in WWI - N 42 27.607 W 083 10.069
