We are often told (correctly, if somewhat ideologically), that geocaches should take us to somewhere "interesting", and not simply be placed just for the sake of it. My way of helping to adhere to this ideal is to base a cache around details given on an Information Board, plaque or similar feature about the area in which it is situated, or the person / building / location it describes.

By definition, it is hoped that this information will be "interesting", and will help the cacher discover things that would often not be revealed by a traditional cache. For this reason, I'd encourage any future caches in this series to be multi caches, firstly to read about the area, and then to hopefully take the cacher to one or more of the places mentioned on the Board, if appropriate.

This milestone cache is one in what will be a series of sixty hides placed to mark my milestone birthday which Covid 19 so rudely interrupted in 2020.  I want to share their history and celebrate these wonderful monuments which quietly sit in our landscape.

Watch out for more caches popping up before my next milestone birthday!

This drive-by cache is a short walk from the posted co-ordinates. It focuses on someone who lived in Little Witley and made significant changes to certain objects in our environment although you probably won't have noticed! I have lived in this area for more than thirty years and only discovered this plaque by accident when needing to stop here briefly a few months ago. I hope you find the information interesting.

The questions below are based on an information plaque at the posted coordinates.

A = What is the third name of the person commemorated in the plaque? Number of letters.

B = He lived in Little Witley from 19 * 6

C = What did his department redesign in the 1930's? Number of letters.

D = Over how many were then erected? 1 * 0

EF = What are they now known as? Total number of letters = E F

The total number of each answer is: 24

Insert your answers in the equation below to find GZ a short walk away.

N52 16. (C - A) (F - E) (B + F)

W002 18. (B - D) C (E + F)

Enjoy making an impression of the handmade stamp in your log book and where possible add your stamp impression here when doing the admin. If you don't have a stamp, drawing a little picture with your log would be much appreciated. An ink pad is provided. Replace exactly as found. Thank you.

 PLEASE LEAVE BOTH THE HANDMADE STAMP AND INK PAD IN THE CACHE FOR OTHERS TO ENJOY...THESE ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS! THANK YOU :)

I had an idea to publish sixty caches on my birthday in 2020 to mark it being a milestone but Covid 19 and lockdown put pay to plans. Instead I have decided to indulge myself by publishing special milestone caches over the year with the hope of reaching a total of sixty before next July!

Whilst this cache was published in November 2019, it is a fitting one to mark as milestone birthday number one. (#MB 1) Watch out for more popping up over the coming months…
