"HIGH IRON" : This is a reference to the Main line or high-speed track which is laid with heavier rail than that used on unimportant branches or spurs.
The track here is cut-off from the main to the north, and so is "not" the "High Iron". It's no longer used for anything, other than to create some bumps for the passing traffic at the street crossing
