Geocache Description:
When: 10;00 a.m. sharp! Why "sharp"? 'Cuz cavyguy says that and if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for us!
Where: At least the 29 of you who logged finds at this event 01/01/2019 will remember.
Why: To start the New Year right with a fun geo-event! Anyone inclined may bring snacks to share.
Who: All local and passing-by geocachers. If you bring a dog, please bring a leash to keep him/her/us/everyone safe.
What: Flash mob event to welcome in a great new year of geo-adventures!
9:45 to 9:59 a.m.: Geocachers, who are universally known for their patience, will wait patiently and nonchalantly in their georigs, giving no nefarious suggestion of impending activity.
10:00 a.m. precisely: Look for the open ammo can at the posted coords, write your geonick on the provided specially cut paper, and place it in the ammo can for the prize drawing.
10:15: Group photo. I will need a capable volunteer for this; my new phone is so different from its predecessors that I have not yet mastered transferring photos camera-to-computer. All cachers are encouraged to add photos to their logs. Thank you!
10:20: Prize drawing, followed by clean-up, because geocachers (like my Boy Scouts) always cheerfully leave an event location cleaner than they found it! The Grand Challenge will be announced!
We seem to be known for standing around talking for quite some time.
10:30: "Official ending," at which time cachers may depart singly or in groups for further geo-adventures. There are several caches within convenient walking distance. The walk around the (frozen?) lake is always fun and beautiful, and yields a few more smileys!
10:45: Formal closing. This means that we are officially done - until 2021!
