We've held events on equinoxes at this venue, so we thought we'd hold one on a solstice for a change!
The Chilihouse (well, at least one of us...) will be waking up with a bucket of coffee in the obvious place, to celebrate the winter solstice.

Today could be seen as important for geocachers, as hereafter, the days start to get longer, so for those of us who don't do night caching then this gives us the opportunity to spend longer caching and attempt longer walks.
The winter solstice (also known as the hiemal solstice, hibernal solstice or midwinter), occurs when one of the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt away from the Sun. The winter solstice is the day with the shortest period of daylight and longest night of the year, when the Sun is at its lowest daily maximum elevation in the sky.
The actual time of the 2019 winter solstice in Hampshire is 04:19, but as that's a bit early in the day, the event will be held from 09:00-10:00.
