I love that there are so many Green Spaces throughout Newport News that have been saved by various organizations. This space in particular, because it is close to my work and I come here often on my lunches to enjoy the scenery. It's not exactly quiet and peaceful during the day, but there is still some serenity in it;
No matter what your GPS is telling you, this is not on the interstate! You'll want to park in the retail parking lot next to the site and then use the easy access trail to reach the backside of the lot. A little bushwacking is required once you get back there, but it should be relatively quick and easy. There is no gate but the sign at the "trailhead" says the trail is closed from sunset to sunrise.
The cache itself is a small, plastic lock-n-lock container. Might could fit some small swag and maybe a really small TB, but right now there is just a log and a pencil. Sorry, no FTF prize for this one. Please put the cache back the same way you found it.
