It is said that it takes 21 days to form a habit and 90 days to create a lifestyle. Well my challenging 'lifestyle' has turned in to an addiction! A healthy addiction of finding smileys everyday!
I will be celebrating my 1000th day of geocaching, and if all goes well, a 1000 continuous day geocaching streak of at least one find per day.
You are wlcome to come & celebrate with me. There is a Starbucks, Einstein Brothers Bagels & a Mc Donalds in this area.
There are umbrella covered tables outside that we can meet at. If the weather does not cooperate, we can move inside.
In April 2017, Jodi Jones introduced me to geocaching. In her words, she 'created a monster'. She knew I was a 'dangling carrot chaser' kind of girl that I would fit right in to this game.
Jodi lives in Wisconsin, (Where I lived for 11 years) & was in San Diego for work, I met her for dinner one night & the dinner topic was geocaching. After dinner, Jodi said, 'there is a cache in the parking lot'. We walked over to the area, and after a few minutes, found a flat plate stuck to a column. Wow! People travel by this every day & don't see it in plain sight?! After that, I drove her to her hotel. She said, 'there is one in the parking lot' (again?!). We found an LPC. After this one, we went back to her room where she helped me download the geocaching app & create my account. She then started showing me how to find events so I can meet other cachers in the area. She tutored me in ways to challenge myself by starting a continuous daily streak from day one and at least one FTF each month.
A few days later, I attended my first event, Night Hunter's Pink Moon event is where I met some local cachers, After a week, I was hooked!
If Jodi had not invited me to dinner & told me about geocaching, I would not have had the traveling experiences of the last 2 years or met some amazing friends, who I affectionately refer to as my geo-family.
Without the help of some very special people, I would not have hit the milestones as fast as I have. I thank you all!
