Come along to the Geocaching NSW's Introduction to Geocaching session to learn the basics of geocaching.
Date: 8 January 2020
Time: 11am-12pm
Location: Building 129 at Newington Armory (follow the railway tracks)
Parking: 3 hour parking is available outside the Armory and at Blaxland Riverside Park
Public Transport: Catch the Parramatta River Ferry to the Olympic Park stop and walk 900m to the Armory
In this session you'll find out everything you need to get you outside and playing straight away including how to be a responsible player, how to decide which geocaches are right for you, what to do with a geocache once you've found it, and where to get help.
The event will be broken into:
11:00-11:30 – classroom session
11:30-12:00 – Q&A and technology help, meet and greet, travel bug discovery
12:00 onwards – go out and find caches!
The content is geared towards new players (especially families with children), but people with a little experience under their belts are welcome to join in too. This event is about getting new players up and running with confidence. Please be considerate of the learning environment by arriving promptly or waiting until the first half of the session is completed.
Geocaching NSW have been working in conjunction with Sydney Olympic Park Authority to bring more geocaching activity to the Park. We are grateful for their assistance and cooperation.
This is a great opportunity to have your questions answered so that you can get outside and play!
Did you know that NSW has a geocaching association? Geocaching NSW aims to enhance and improve the activity of geocaching and holds regular events where geocachers meet to enjoy their common interests. Visit the association website here.
