Church Micro 4603 Awsworth
This is another in the series of Church Micro's and this is one that has had life before but got archived and is back again.
St.Peters Church Awsworth was built around 1745. It was commissioned by the Earl of Stamford and was built by Richard Smedley who donated the sum of £5 per year for 'teaching the poor', this continued until the late 1990's at the reduced rate of £2.
The Richard Smedley donation enabled the now church vestry to continue as a school room during the week days.
Notes from the church magazine of 1894 records for July and August of that year showed
14 Baptisms
3 Marriages
5 Burials (4 of which were aged 2 and under).
The Cache
So when you have worked out the cache, it is a short drive away due to the area having lots of nice caches dotted around.
To find the cache you will need to go to the front of the church where there is a stone in the wall.
On the stone it says
The Lord Bishop of Southwell, blessed and Laid Stone on AB/10/CDEF
Next you have a simple sum to work out
N52 5(A+F).FFE W001 16.(B-C) (A+C) (D-F-A)
When you arrive at the GZ there is a layby of sorts almost next to the cache and you are looking for a Bison which is tied to something very tall and is at ground level, please be aware the road can get busy and it is used by lots of dog walkers as well.
Church Micro Series
Hopefully this cache will encourage others to contribute to the world's largest series. If anybody would like to expand to this series, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
