Hanzhi Jie used to be Dengfeng Jie several years ago. The name has changed, but this amazingly intensive and vibrant, continually busy pedestrian street has not changed from a decade ago, except that now the motor vehicle access is even more controlled, making it even more attractive to pedestrians. A popular plaza with seating and - as everywhere in this area - a cornucopia of shops on all sides has also been installed recently in the south section of this long and winding road which runs roughly parallel to the more conventional and vehicle-dominated traffic street of Xiatang Xilu only 100m or so to the west.
The African population has declined dramatically since the peak a decade or so ago, as prices rise and arbitrage opportunities for traders decline, but the area still retains a predominantly African and Middle-Eastern presence and feel.
There is so much activity - all day and night - in Hanzhi Jie that hiding a cache there is practically impossible. This magnetic nano is located a short distance off Hanzhi Zhi up one of the many side streets.
