Another cache for the desert trails out behind the Desert Trails and Diamond J RV Parks. Those who are not guests of the parks and don't live in the surrounding neighborhood can access the trails via a trail entrance at Banks Elementary school. The trails offer nice easy hiking and mountain biking, with just a few shallow washes. While out here, try sunspider's nice series of caches out along the trails.
This is a simple 2-stage field puzzle cache. The first stage coordinates will take you to a pleasant surprise, a small stone labryinth that someone has built in the desert out here. You will need some basic cactus identification skills to determine the final coordinates. There is a single notable cactus within the circle of the labryinth. What type of cactus is it?
If it's a Prickly Pear, go to N32 11.496 W111 08.995
If it's a Buckhorn Cholla, go to N32 11.494 W111 08.661
If it's a Fishhook Barrel cactus, go to N32 11.386 W111 08.657
If it's a Christmas Cholla, go to N32 11.501 W111 08.559
It's the Sonoran Desert, so...you might want to bring water, watch out for rattlesnakes, and just about every form of vegetation out here has thorns!
