Rockefeller State Park Preserve, once the country home of the Rockefeller family, offers quiet walks of all lengths and through all seasons. The trails are crushed stone carriage roads laid out by John D. Rockefeller Sr. and Jr. in the first half of the 20th century. Designed to complement the landscape, the 45 miles of scenic carriage roads are wide and easy to walk – or snowshoe! Trail maps of the carriage roads are available at the Preserve Office.
Almost to the end of the Equestrian Trail, from here you’ll have to retrace your steps to get back to David’s Loop. Take some time to admire the beautiful old beech trees along both sides of this path.
