This cache is hidden along a nice hiking/biking trail that follows the San Joaqiun Channel, a part of the Delta Waterway. If you are lucky, you might see an ocean freighter heading to or from the Stockton Port downtown. It's quite a site to behold.
Access is off March lane, west of I-5 but east of Buckley Cove. Take a right off March and head up a short hill. You'll come to a gate at the beginning of the trail (access road). Parking is available along the road near the gate, but be certain to lock your car doors and leave valuables out of sight.
Even if the gate is closed you can gain access to the trail around the north end of the gate..
On the way to this cache you'll pass another of our geocaches, "No Dumping!", So watch for that one if you have not already found it. (It's an easy find!) Also, if you head on out to Buckley Cove later, you'll be able to find 4 more of our caches.
On your right as you hike to the cache you will see a large vineyard. On the left will be Buckley cove boat docks and launch site , then you'll curve north following the road along the Channel. You are likely to see a fair amount of boating activity as you walk, especially on a weekend. Don't fail to notice that the vineyard to the right of the trail is at a much lower elevation than the river and channel on your left. In case of a flood you might want to bring your boat. (just kidding)
The cache should not be difficult to locate. Please be certain to return it to the same location where you found it.
