[ITA] Borghetto è una piccola frazione del comune di Valeggio sul Mincio, in provincia di Verona ed è incluso tra "I borghi più belli d'Italia".
Viene attraversato al suo centro dal fiume Mincio e dista circa un km dal confine tra il Veneto e la Lombardia.
Caratteristici sono i suoi molti edifici con mulini ad acqua ed i sui ponti di attraversamento del Mincio.
E' stato al centro di molte vicende che partono ancora dall'alto medioevo tra cui la battaglia del 1796 dove Napoleone sconfisse gli austriaci.
Strutture interessanti sono il ponte visconteo, il ponte di legno, il castello scaligero, il Serraglio (antica fortificazione), e la chiesa di San Marco Evangelista fondata nel X secolo.
Ricordiamo il bellissimo evento che si tiene nel terzo martedì di giugno della "Festa del Nodo d'Amore", con una tavolata sul ponte visconteo dove vengono serviti i Tortellini di Valeggio sul Mincio a circa 3000 commensali.
[ENG] Borghetto is a small fraction of the municipality of Valeggio sul Mincio, in the province of Verona and is included among "I borghi più belli d'Italia" ("The most beautiful villages in Italy").
It is crossed at its center by the Mincio river and is about one km from the border between Veneto and Lombardy.
Characteristic are its many buildings with water mills and its bridges crossing the Mincio.
It was at the center of many events that still start from the early Middle Ages including the battle of 1796 where Napoleon defeated the Austrians.
Interesting structures are the Visconti bridge, the wooden bridge, the Scaliger castle, the Serraglio (ancient fortification), and the church of San Marco Evangelista founded in the 10th century.
We remember the beautiful event held on the third Tuesday of June of the "Love Knot Festival", with a table on the Visconti bridge where the Tortellini di Valeggio sul Mincio (ring-shaped pasta) are served to about 3000 diners.
