Kongens Have er Københavns mest benyttede park.

In the cache: Logbook.

It is possible during the opening hours to walk inside the park to some of the stages, and after the park's closing time it is possible to complete the walk. The cache is not so far from the park and closest to stage 6. You can choose the order yourself.

Kongens Have is Copenhagen's most used park. It was built in 1606 at the same time as Rosenborg Castle was erected.

After a big fire in Copenhagen in 1795, part of the King's Garden was donated to the city as building sites for re-housing. Kronprinsesse gade (Crown Princess Street) was established and city builder Peter Meyn was responsible for the construction of a grid fence in 1803-1804. Inspired by Pont Neuf in Paris, Meyn incorporated the pavilions as exclusive trade stalls that could contribute a rental income.

The construction style was neoclassical. Initially there was just a double door with a small half round window above. The large windows first appeared in the mid-1800s.
During the British bombing, part of Copenhagen burned again in 1807, which meant that some pavilions were temporarily used for housing. Up to 16 people have lived in a 16 m2 pavilion.

Today, the pavilions are owned by the State and managed by the Palace and Culture Board, which has undertaken a comprehensive restoration of the now preserved buildings. They are rented out to shops with quality products. During opening hours you can step in and get an experience of the nice little historical pavilions.
