Most of the area that was once Grass Valley's Chinatown is now part of the Gold Miners Inn parking lot. Second, only to San Francisco's Chinatown, more than 1,000 Chinese lived here in the 1870s. You could find stores, gardens, opium and gambling parlors and "houses of joy."
