*** No need to get off the trail or go down to the creek to grab this cache****, coords are very jumpy usually, check the hint and It should be easy to find
Have a seat and you are there
A nice spot for a little rest on the bootjack trail with a creek cascading down the hill joining the main creek. There is a log to sit down, if it's dry and enjoy the quiet away from the muir woods, and listen to the water.
Access to the cache is from about 8am to 5pm - 8 pm depending on the season, check out the link for the muir woods
https://www.nps.gov/muwo/index.htm
As far as getting there you have the easier hike in from the Muir Woods, or hike down from Pan Toll Ranger station and do a loop hike, or park along Panoramic Highway and hike in from there.
Parking at Muir Woods you have to go online to the muir woods website (link above) and make parking reservation and then there is also an entrance fee for the national monument (unless you have the anual national parks pass)
Parking at Pantoll ranger station, has a state park parking fee
Parking along Panoramic highway is free

There are a lot of nice hikes around there.
My favourite is from the muir woods up bootjack to pantoll, dipsea trail down to steep ravine, up steep ravine, down ben johnson to muir woods
(an optional extension I do, is once you get to steep ravine go left (there is another easy to miss left turn shortly after the bridge when you hit steep ravine trail), and follow steep ravine down to the steep ravine cabins and rocky point, a rocky pretty beach, the trail ends at hwy1 cross the street and follow the paved road down to the ocean, for the way back retreat your steps and follow steep ravine all the way back up to pantoll and then down ben johnson to muir woods
