The cache IS NOT at the posted coordinates.
I love almost everything about Germany and am proud of my German roots so I figured I would recreate a series of caches I did in Germany here in NE Ohio. I hope you enjoy them as much as the Germans did.
Each of the people in this series were Made (born) in Germany. Later in life they immigrated to the USA and became citizens of America. Many of them had a great influence on the USA and the rest of the world. I hope that each person who completes this series learns a little bit more about how our two countries, German and The United States of America, are forever connected. So here we go! See if you can figure out who this person is or was.
HINT:
I am a man.
I was born in Rodalben Rheinland-Pfalz.
I am dead.
Too Difficult? Maybe this will help:
At 11 years old I was expelled from school because I am Jewish.
My father was a shoemaker in Pirmasens.
My family escaped Germany before Kristallnacht.
Do you know who I am now? No?
I received my Bachelor of Science in Television Engineering in 1949.
In 1966 I invented something that many people in Europe and North America either have in their homes are have used at least once.
My invention was released to the public in 1972 by the Magnavox Television company.
All of the prototypes of my invention are now in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.
In 2006 I received the National Medal of Technology from former President George W. Bush.
LAST HINT!!
In 2010 I was inducted in to the U.S. National Inventors Hall of Fame.
