Geocache Description:




I have a feeling this road has seen some action.  What I wouldn't give to go back 70 or 80 years and sit here and watch.  In 1926, Route 66 was aligned through Catoosa, then re-aligned in 1936 to its current location (now it is Oklahoma highway 66).  I-44 opened in 1957 and bypassed Catoosa.

Please put the cache back as you found it, cover it, don't litter, pick up some trash, and be respectful of the area.  Please do not put food of any kind in the cache, as this attracts animals that may damage or move the cache.

4/17/2026 Today I placed a new container in a new location.  It is a magnetized container on a metal post.  There are two plants near the cache that look like poison, but are not.  They are Virginia creeper (5 leaves) and boxelder tree (3 leaves).

9/25/2026 Today I placed a new container in a new location.  It is a plastic Tupperware-like container under a small pile of rocks, a bit southeast of the barrier across the road.  For extra help see the image below called SPOILER.
