This experience will lead you to the charming town of Ellijay, Georgia, where you'll find the cache container hidden near the only tiny bottle house in Gilmer County. The Ellijay Bottle House was built in July of 2007 by Lawrence and Audrey Turner and is primarily made of plaster and wine bottles - 2,026 of them! It took less than a year for the Turners to collect the bottles from friends, family and local business owners. Audrey was inspired by another bottle house "potting shed" built by DeKalb Master Gardener, Varese Chambless, of Atlanta. You’ll have to see it to believe it!
The Ellijay Bottle House is located on private property and is lit up at night by lights that are placed in the ground surrounding the house. Geocachers are asked to ONLY walk on the driveway side and front of the house. Open the red door to look inside, but do not enter the tiny house or explore any other part of the property. Enjoy!
