The cache is a small food jar about 80 feet off the Redwood Trail. It is best approached from the trail junction bench, since most of the way is clear; and there are no obstacles or PO. The ground is fairly flat and no climbing is necessary.
I vaguely remember another cache here at this crossroads when I first began geocaching. It was just a few feet off the trail and a pretty easy find, which made it just as easily muggled. And since that cache was eventually archived, I'm guessing that's what happened.
I had passed through this flat recently with a group and noticed a spot that was a little further removed from the trails. On a subsequent post-Christmas hike I decided to explore that spot a bit more and found a perfect hide nook for the smallish container I had brought with me.
