Pelerinaj la SPA
Mănăstirea Acoperământul Maicii Domnului (mănăstire de maici) se află în satul Gheorghițeni, comuna Dorna Arini, județul Suceava, la circa 5 kilometri de Vatra Dornei, pe partea stângă a râului Bistrița, la poalele Dealului Bârnărel.
Complexul a costat în jur de 4 milioane de euro şi a fost ridicat în perioada 1999-2004 la iniţiativa celui care mai târziu a devenit Arhiepiscopul Tomisului, Teodosie, pe un teren moştenit de acesta. Întrucât înaltele feţe bisericeşti au depus un jurământ de sărăcie, astfel că nu pot deţine averi personale, terenul a fost donat construirii unei mănăstiri. Resursele financiare au provenit din contribuții ale localnicilor și enoriașilor din Arhiepiscopia Tomisului, precum și ale unor companii din Suceava și Constanța.
Cu excepția scărilor și fundațiilor, clădirile și clopotnița sunt ridicate în întregime din lemn de esență tare. Complexul este alcătuit din:
- biserica din lemn de stejar acoperită cu şindrilă, cu pereții sculptați și înflorați aidoma bisericilor din Maramureș, este pictată în stil bizantin
- arhondaricul, care are în jur de 40 de camere (arhondaricul este o aripă sau casă specială a unei mănăstiri ortodoxe rezervată găzduirii oaspeților)
- o cabană cu cinci etaje în care se găsesc chiliile, trapeza, biblioteca și atelierele (trapeza este numele sălii de mese a unei mănăstiri)
- clopotniţa aflată la intrare, care are o înălțime de peste 50 de metri şi gazduiește 24 de clopote acţonate prin telecomandă, fabricate în Austria (cel mai mare cântărește 5 tone), un carilon şi un sistem de iluminare (carilonul este numele instrumentului muzical la care se pot executa melodii cu ajutorul clopotelor)
- un hotel de 3 stele cu sală de conferințe și restaurant; capacitatea de cazare a întregului complex turistic este de 80 de locuri
- un pavilion administrativ aferent hotelului
- o bază de tratament recuperator
- fântână arteziană, pavaj cu piatră de râu şi marmură, băi cu jacuzzi
- terenuri de 20 de hectare
Complexul monahal a stârnit unele controverse, de la luxul afișat de construcțile şi dotările acestuia, până la afacerile imobiliare derulate între mănăstire și Arhiepiscopul Tomisului şi concurența făcută operatorilor turistici locali de către hotelul mănăstirii.
De pe cel mai cunoscut site unde putem rezerva camere la hoteluri aflăm că "Baza de Odihna si Tratament Pricopie si Elisabeta" are un restaurant, bar, terasă, o grădină și WiFi gratuit în întreaga proprietate. Parcarea privată poate fi disponibilă contra cost. Toate camerele complexului includ balcon, baie privată și TV cu ecran plat.
Pe alt site unitatea apare sub numele "Complex & Spa Dorna Arini, Vatra Dornei". De aici aflăm că este situată lângă mănăstire şi dispune de 5 camere single şi 23 de camere duble cu pat matrimonial sau 2 paturi twin, având lift, restaurant cu 90 de locuri şi sală de conferințe. În cadrul restaurantului se pot organiza evenimente speciale precum aniversări, botezuri sau alte evenimente private. Sala de conferințe are o capacitate de 150 de locuri și dispune de ecran de proiecţie, videoproiector, internet wireless, flipchart şi consumabile. Baza de tratament și relaxare se află situată la ultimul nivel al complexului fiind specializată în proceduri de balneo-fizico-terapie și recuperare fizică.
Pilgrimage to the SPA
This Monastery (a nuns' monastery) is located in the village of Gheorghițeni, Dorna Arini commune, Suceava county, about 5 kilometers from Vatra Dornei, on the left side of the Bistrița river, at the foot of Bârnărel Hill.
The complex cost was jaround 4 million euros and was erected between 1999-2004 at the initiative of Teodosie who later became Archbishop of Tomis, on a land inherited by him. As the pirests take an oath of poverty and cannot have personal assets, the land was donated for the construction of a monastery. The financial resources came from contributions of the locals and parishioners of the Tomis Archdiocese, as well as from some companies in Suceava and Constanța counties.
Except for the stairs and foundations, the buildings and the bell tower are built entirely of wood. The complex consists of:
- the church built with oak, covered with shingles, with the walls carved and flourished like the wooden churches of Maramures (a UNESCO site) and painted in Byzantine style
- the "arhondaricul", which has around 40 rooms (it's a special wing or a separate builing at an Orthodox monastery reserved for guest accommodation)
- a five-storey chalet where the monastic cells are, the refectory, the library and the workshops (the name of the dining room from a monastery is called a refectory)
- the bell tower at the entrance which has a height of over 50 meters and has 24 bells operated by a remote control, manufactured in Austria (the largest weighs 5 tons), a carillon and a lighting system (the carillon is a musical instrument using bells to make sound)
- a 3-star hotel with conference room and restaurant; the accommodation capacity of the entire tourist complex is 80 places
- an administrative pavilion for the hotel
- a recovery treatment base
- artesian fountain, river stone and marble pavement, bathrooms with jacuzzi
- land of 20 hectares
The monastic complex aroused some controversy, from the luxury displayed by its constructions and facilities, to the real estate business carried out between the monastery and the Archbishop of Tomis. and the competition made to the local tour operators by the monastery hotel.
From the best known site for booking rooms at hotels we find out that "The Pricopie and Elisabeta Base for Rest and Treatment" has a restaurant, bar, terrace, a garden and free WiFi throughout the property. Private parking may be available for a fee. All rooms at the resort include a balcony, a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV.
On another site the unit appears under the name "Complex & Spa Dorna Arini, Vatra Dornei". Here we find out that it is located near the monastery and has 5 single rooms and 23 rooms with double beds or 2 twin beds, with elevator, restaurant with 90 seats and a conference room. Within the restaurant special events such as anniversaries, baptisms or other private events can be organized. The conference room has a capacity of 150 seats and has a projection screen, video projector, wireless internet, flipchart and consumables. The base for treatment and relaxation is located at the last level of the complex, being specialized in spa-physical-therapy and physical recovery procedures.
