The sawtellheadland will be easy to find but the cache might be a lot harder
the challenging cache here is a small platic sastima container with camo on the lid, with a log only, you will need your own pen, you will also need shoes and a keen eye for odd rocks or in this case rock . Im not sure stealth moves will be needed but of course it cant hurt.
so many things could be said and told about the sawtell headland from the view to the geology of the earea one one things for sure its a very nice place to visit the location has lots of parking but also receives lots of visitors which in turn means lots of cars. The walk from nearby streets is still a easy interesting walk so dont feel like you need to park close to GZ if nothings available. When you attempt this cache you will need to leave the path and walk around multen lava rock from a time gone by and as you arrive closer to GZ start looking in covered holes for the missplaced rock, it wont be easy to find but its not impossible the rock is as big as a mobile phone but sorry thats all the help im willing to offer. Lets face it even if you are not successfull today you really cant complain with the location, with its seating to sit at while enjoying your breakfast , lunch , or even dinner.
To describe this place to someone who doesnt know it and is visiting this location because of the cache allow me to put into words a decsription of this location. Grassed areas, views of the surfers, swimmers, fishers, yoga, thai chi, joggers, walkers, whales, dolphins and sharks. Tables and chairs, pathways, ancient molten rocks, islands, creeks and river, rock pool, beaches both side of the headland.Toilets nearby
Please respect the memorial plaques of the locals who never left scattered around this headland
The suburb of Sawtell close by is worth a visit with its 100 odd year old fig trees that line the ctr of this neiche area really gives this place its ambiance. Thank goodness the local people put up a stink when coucncil in their wisdm thought of ripping them out in the mid 2000s
