SCOTTISH FORESTRY
Scottish Forestry (SF) was established as an executive agency of the Scottish Government on 1 April 2019, following completion of the devolution of forestry as a result of the Forestry and Land Management (Scotland) Act 2018.
THE PURPOSE OF SCOTTISH FORESTRY.
We support the delivery of the Scottish Government’s priorities for Scotland's forests, through guidance, advice, incentives and regulations, and by advising Ministers on forestry policy.
PRIORITIES:
- Ensuring forests and woodlands are sustainably managed.
- Expanding the area of forests and woodlands, recognising wider land-use objectives.
- Enhancing the environmental benefits provided by forests and woodlands.
- Engaging more people, communities and businesses in the creation, management and use of forests and woodlands.
