You won't find the Black Panther here, or maybe it is hidden and you just need the right guide.
What you will definitely find here is the former small town of Waconda. The original town of Waconda was not far from here, closer to Gervais but it basically folded in the late 1800's when the Oregon & California RR opened a station in Gervais instead of Waconda.
This Waconda can be attributed to the opening of the Oregon Electric Railway, which was built in 1907. The passenger station and its former electrical substation is just east of here by the railroad tracks. The OE was an electrified Interurban railway and need power from the substation to operate its trains via overhead wire. Just slightly east of here is an old electrical generator, I am thinking that may have come out of the old substation. In 1912 a past office was established here. A block to north and east looks like an old two-room schoolhouse, now a private residence.
Today the town is an unincorporated community of Marion County. The old OE substation is a shell of a building. The post office closed a long time ago. But there are new homes being built since it is so close to Salem. Who knows, maybe the town will be filled with Avengers soon.
