The Ard is an area at the east of Port Ellen.
It is great for a wee walk with paths running through - though in wet weather would definitely recommend wearing wellies!
Good views over Port Ellen and the sea to the south of Islay 😊
You can access the Ard through the gate at the bottom of Southside or the gate halfway up the road between 2 cottages (see pics).
