Verdala Palace Quarry Traditional Cache

This cache was created to show a hidden archaeological site very close to the road.

This archaeological site is part of a quarry from which the stones of the Verdala Palace were supplied in 1586 A.C. during the reign of the knights of the Order of Saint John.  The Verdala Palace, which now serves as the official summer residence of the President of Malta can be seen in the distance from GZ.
