Kirche cache Allschwil Traditional Cache

Die Haltestelle heisst seit Eröffnung der Strecke anno 1905 schlicht und einfach "Kirche". Gemeint ist dabei nicht die alte Dorfkirche von Allschwil, sondern entweder die katholische oder die benachbarte reformierte Kirche. Welche der beiden sei offen gelassen, jeder Passagier kann davon ausgehen, dass "seine" Kirche gemeint sei.

The tram stop has simply been called "Kirche" since the opening of the line in 1905. It isn't named for the church in Allschwil village, rather for either the catholic or reform churchs, both of which are close to the tram and bus stops. That way each passenger can think that their church is the one that the name refers to!
