Overview
I wanted to do something special for my Community Celebration Event so I thought I would combine my loves of Geocaching, beer, and trivia and host a Pub Quiz. Make the drive out to Cochrane on a Sunday afternoon and test your knowledge and meet up with your fellow Geocachers.
All subjects are fair game in pub quiz. I will do my best to cover topics such as movies, music, television, sports, current events, literature, general knowledge, and even some Geocaching! Some questions will easy and others will be real stumpers. There will be multiple rounds of questions and an intermission at the halfway point.
Basic Quiz Rules
- Teams can range up to a maximum of four people. You can either build your team in advance or meet up with other cachers at the event and form a team on site. You will need a team name so get creative!
- There is no cost to play the quiz. We're playing for fun, bragging rights, and if this becomes a recurring event, the honour of being the first team to be crowned trivia champions.
- Have fun! This is a celebration of the caching community, after all.
Location and Schedule
The event will take place in the back room at the Rocky View Brewing Company, 420 1 Street W in Cochrane. We have the room reserved for the event and we can seat about 32 people. Logging your "Will Attend" with the number of people in your party will be most helpful so I can keep the venue posted on the expected number of people. Full menu with food and drinks will be available for purchase should you wish to do so.
2pm: Meet and greet with your fellow cachers, organize your trivia team, and get signed-in for the quiz.
2:30pm: Trivia starts
~4:30pm: Trivia ends. Winners announced and more time to visit.
5:00pm: Event ends.
Wrap-Up
This is my first attempt at hosting an event of this nature. Expect some hiccups and be patient. If it is as successful as I hope, this could become a recurring event. Your feedback will be appreciated. Let's have some fun and maybe learn some things along the way!
