Events are my favorite part of geocaching in Korea. I can meet with friends and meet new geocachers from around the world. This event was origionally to celebrate Geocaching's 20th anniversary, but due to the Coronavirus Pandemic two extra years have passed. This event will now be on International Geocaching Day.
By attending this event you will earn the International Geocaching Day Souvenir. Not only that, but you will become part of a World Record. This world record will be for the most explorers out caching or on an Adventure in a single day. You will also earn an extra souvenir for being a part of this World Record.
At this event I want to combine my love for geocaching with a unique feature that Korea has to offer, Makgeolli. Korean geocachers know that Makgeolli is a rice wine that is usually milky white and has a slight chalky texture. It is one of the more unique things I love about Korea. Better yet, each region of Korea has its own unique version.
At this event we will be sampling different makgeollis. I will bring some of my favorite versions for everyone to taste. Geocachers are also welcome to bring their own favorites, but it is not required.
Drinking Makgeolli is not required to attend this event. I will even bring some Milkis for anyone who doesn't drink so that you are not left out.
If you are driving to the event, please don't drink.
Come join us at Sun and Moon Cafe, in Anyang!
