Geocache Description:

As you stand looking at the bridge over the railway line, you may be interested to know that the workers weren’t allowed to ride on the train. It was reserved for moving ammunition only. Workers either had to walk or cycle to their areas of work once they had clocked on, which may have been a considerable distance away.

Today, Sydney Olympic Park has over 35kms of shared bike tracks that allow you to explore the whole precinct from Concord to Silverwater, from the Parramatta River to Olympic Stadium.

To find this multi cache, first you must do some counting. Count all piece of timber on the bridge along ONE SIDE ONLY. Armed with this number that we’ll call X, perform the following calculation to arrive at the final destination of the geocache.

S33 50.152 – X
E151 03.726 + X

This cache is wheelchair accessible but will require a low stretch to make the final cache find.

*Access to Newington Armory is available 7 days a week between 9am and 5pm, using the existing pedestrian gates.

Did you know that NSW has a geocaching association? Geocaching NSW aims to enhance and improve the activity of geocaching and holds regular events where geocachers meet to enjoy their common interests. Visit the association website here.
