This series of caches was designed for the Rotary Club of LaBelle. I know through caching that I have discovered many places I never would have otherwise known existed and what other way to have people explore parks and other various locations around the town.
The caches for this series will range from bison to small-ish and will not be the same container at each location, so unlike other series caches that use the same container, we have tried to switch it up! We want the cachers to enjoy their surroundings while on the hunt.
This area used to be a golf course and hotel/conference center. The cow fields were the greens, if you look closely you can still see some of the ball wash stands!! Mr. Hendry began to build his cattle business after the Civil War. He made arrangements with a lot of cattle buyers in Cuba, and was one of the first ranchers in Florida to ship cattle there. He eventually owned 25,000 acres of fenced in grazing land and 50,000 head of cattle. So give a little MOOOOO and say hi to the herd!
