Clean Up Australia - Step Up to Clean Up 2020

Be a CITO Crusader and kick off your bonus day of caching in 2020, by joining us for this morning Cache In Trash Out Event!

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which this cache is located, the Wallamattagal People of the Darug Nation, and their continuing connection to Country and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present.

Their Land stretches from the north shore of the Parramatta River, including the City of Ryde, from the intersection of the Lane Cove River and west to Parramatta.

We recognise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Australians and we are committed to honouring their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, and their rich contribution to society.

The Land surrounding the Parramatta River was occupied for many thousands of years by the Burramattagal, Toongagal, Wallumedegal, Wangal, and Wategora Aboriginal peoples. The river was an important cultural site, source of food and a place for trade.

Attending this Geocaching Event

Everyone is welcome and we look forward to CITO'ing with you for Leap Day 2020.

By attending, you'll also receive a special digital souvenir from Geocaching HQ for attending an event on this day.

  • Meeting point: Putney Park, Pellisier Road, Putney NSW 2112
  • Date: Saturday, 29th February 2020
  • Time: 8:00am (08:00) - 9:00am (09:00)
  • Bring: strong gardening-type gloves, sunscreen, water and enclosed shoes. It is also recommended you wear a long sleeve shirt, pants and a hat. Wet weather gear is also suggested in case of inclement conditions.

If you plan on coming along, please log a 'Will Attend'.

We will meet at the posted co-ordinates and split into groups to tackle the park and stretch of the Parramatta River.

The CITO Event should last for about an hour and we will take a group photo at the end. Feel free to continue cleaning up the site after the official event finishes up.

This event is supported by Clean Up Australia. It has been registered on their site as an official event, so there's a chance we may be joined by members of the general public (a.k.a. muggles).

Arrangements have been made with Ryde City Council to pick up and dispose the trash we collect on the day.
