Rastplatsen ligger på en liten ö som sticker upp i myren, till och med urberget syns på några ställen. Här är det näringsrik moränmark. Det ser man genom att granarna har växt sig höga och kraftiga. Den öppna marken närmast är ett kärr och längre ut har det bildats ett gungfly. Gungflyet består av ett växttäcke som sitter ihop av rötter och växtlighet. Alltsammans flyter på Kävsjöns vatten.
Före år 1840 var detta kanske en liten kobbe i Kävsjön. Det året sänktes vattennivån cirka en meter, då det var fattiga tider och människorna behövde mer mark att odla på. Här ute på gungflyet skördades starrgräset och man använde hästar att köra iland det med. När det blev så blött att hästarna sjönk i gungflyet, bar man iland skörden för hand.
Här tar den anpassade leden slut. Nu är det samma väg tillbaka. Hoppas ni haft en trevlig dag.

The end of the track with tables and chairs are situated on a little island of moraine, surfacing in the middle of the swamp. This area is more nutritious than the surroundings. The huge spruce trees tell us this. The large open area you can see is the Great Quagmire. It is a carpet of roots woven together, floating on top of the waters of Lake Kävsjön.
Until 1840 this might have been a little island sticking up in Lake Kävsjön, that’s the year the surface of Lake Kävsjön was lowered about one metre. Due to poor conditions for the population in Sweden, people needed more land to farm. Sedges and grass were cut and harvested, when it was to wet for horses to pull the carriage, people carried the harvest ashore on their own backs.
This is the end of the adapted trail, now it is the same way back. Hope you had an enjoyable walk.

Der Rastplatz ist an eniner kleiner Landinsel gelegen welche aus dem Moor herausragt. Sie besteht aus nährstoffreicherem Moränenboden. Das sieht man daran, dass die Fichten höher und kräftiger gewachen sind. Schaut man un die offene Landschaft hinaus, hat sich da „Gungfly“ (Schwingrasen) gebildet. Das ist eine Pflanzendecke, die durch ihre Wurzeln verwachsen ist und auf dem Wasser des Kävsjö schwimmt.
Vor dem Jahr 1840 war dies vielleicht nur eine ganz kleine "Insel" im See Kävsjö. 1840 senkte man jedoch den Wasserspiegel des See um ca. 1 m, denn das waren arme Zeiten und das Volk brauchte Boden, um Landwirtschaft betreiben zu können. Draußen auf dem Schwinggrasen wurde Heu gemacht und mit Hilfe von Pferden an Land gebracht. Wenn der Boden so nass blieb, dass die Pferde darin einsanken, trug man die Ernte per Hand an Land.
Hier ist das Ende des ausgebauten Weges erreicht und der Hinweg wird zum Rückweg. Hoffentlich hatten Sie einen angenehmen Ausflug.
