Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Potomac Heritage Trail! This trail is part of a designated National Scenic Trail corridor that will connect various trails and historic sites in the states of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. The PHT trail network includes 710 miles of existing and planned sections, tracing the outstanding natural, historical, and cultural features of the Mid Atlantc Region.

This cache is placed in a Virginia State Park with permission, so absolutely no night caching.

As I was hiking uphill back to the Leesylvania State Park visitor center from the PWC Creek Series - Neabsco Creek Final when I came across this bench and an information sign. Since I was out of breath I took a seat, read the sign, and hatched a plan to place a multicache here.

On the front of the bench pictured above there is a little gold plaque that reads:

Andrew M.

Eagle Project

TROOP A B C D

JUNE E F G H

I left off the last name of the person, but that is more for their privacy and has nothing to do with the coordinates. Use the four number troop number for ABCD and the year listed after June for EFGH. Perform the easy math below and plug the numbers into N 38° 35.CIJ W 77° 15.KLM.

E + D = I

C + G = J

B + D + G = K

J + E = L

L - A = M

You can validate your coordinates with certitude.
