Geocache Description:

08 February 2020, 13:00 - 15:00

We are excited again for our yearly event of putting our heads together and solving puzzles!  Event details as below.  For those who have attended this event before, everything remains status quo this year except for the location.  Read on!

Details of this event are as follows:

Time:  February 8, 2020 from 1:00 - 3:00pm.

Where do I go?

This event will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. (brown brick building)  The address is 381 Grove Drive, Spruce Grove.  Big thanks to GeoGuider who is supplying our free space this year. As this is a new puzzling venue for us a few instructions: Best access once arriving in Spruce Grove is to exit on Century Road then west on Grove Drive. School and parking lot are on the south side of Grove Drive, park facing north in front of the school. The entry door is at the posted coordinates (brown brick school - St. Thomas Gr. 5-8). The door will be locked so please ring the silver door bell to the right of the door.

Do I need to bring anything?

YES!  Bring your typical puzzle solving tools.  This includes, but may not be limited to: laptops, Ipads, Iphones, notebook/paper, pens/pencils, etc. TBs are welcome too of course.  NOTE: We are politely requesting that all children who are not actively solving puzzles do not attend, to respect the free space we are lended and not distract from the work of all those in attendance.

Which puzzles are we going to solve?

As always, that's up to you!  When you log your ‘Will Attend’ please include a list of those puzzle caches you would like to solve with the group (including GC code).  This list will make up our event as those are the puzzles we will be focusing on.  As well, this will give the puzzle cache owners enough time beforehand to request that their puzzles not be discussed.  If you are a puzzle cache owner and you wish that none of your puzzles are discussed at this event, please post a note below or email the event host.

What do I do when I get there?

Find the logbook and sign in!  Most events don't require a logbook anymore but we are setting one up so we can keep track of those attendees who arrive before 2:30. Those who arrive after 2:30 are welcome and still able to log an 'Attended' for this event but the catch is that they will not receive a full list of solutions. This ensures that only those who spent the afternoon working hard will receive all the puzzle solutions.  Note: Email addresses are requested only for sending out the list of solutions.

How will the event work?

Details will be given on arriving but the intent is to have attendees work in small groups solving different puzzles from the requested list and then submit their solutions to the host for distribution to everyone. If you've solved all the puzzles, stop on by anyways and feel free to offer hints (discreet or otherwise) but no coordinates handouts please!

We always welcome any suggestions on how to make this event more enjoyable.  And as always this event wouldn't have been a success without the inspiration of dani_carriere and the Winnipeg geocaching community who we continue to thank every year!
