I collect vinyl records, music cassettes (MC), CD's and "real music" (live concerts) and am always looking for new ideas and inspirations in this direction.
Musik-sammler and Discogs are very good collector's portals, which are very helpful in the management of the collector's items and of great value. I have been and still am lucky enough to find (or even receive as a gift) "abandoned" collections, which I then digitize and archive.
