Hanging screwtop container hidden high and out of plain view.
While scouting areas for a new geocaching series, I came to this area where Sycamore Ave become Buttonwood Ave and Lincoln Park, Morris County becomes Wayne, Passaic County (which is weird as it disconnected from the rest of Wayne by the Pompton River.) This area is infamous for the flooding that has caused major problems typically in the spring. Many properties have been purchased and turned into parkland. There is a weird eerie feeling in here with remains of civilization and random detrius everywhere. There has only been one other cache in this area called Beavertown that has been long archived. Very interesting logs in there about some of the former residents.
Park at the gate at the end of Sycamore Ave. or at the end of Riveredge Rd. Bamboo must have been planted here and forgotten about as there are at least two large stands of it that I saw while exploring. My guess is that the wet environment allows it to thrive, some of the plants are 20 ft tall! Some argue that it is an invasive species, others do not. Whether it is invasive or not it is hard to control once it gets going.
You will need to traverse one of the stands to find the cache. Use caution when approaching GZ.
