Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates

I named this cache bacause John de Lancie has nothing to do with it besides the GeoArt referenced below makes me think of a role he did. Since I am known for referencing obscure things it is not a role people would immediately recognize him for, like Becca's Uncle Sid in Andromeda or "Discord" the dragon thing in My little Pony (I have nieces so can refer to that one unashamadely, because otherwise I would know nothing about My Little Pony). No, it is some minor role he did from a show that I doubt people will even remember. I am sure people are going to be asking me what it is and what show I am talking about.

Last October I was able to do a bit of travel for my company,  and as I suspected I had a bit of downtime so of course used it to do some geocaching. In my search for something to work on I came across some geoart and puzzles by a fellow named Qumex. In looking them over they fit perfectly for the amount of time I had. As basic as some of these puzzles were I had a great time solving them and going after the caches. It made for a good day and trip. I sent him a message and thanked him at the end of the day.

Back in Salt Lake I still worked some of the puzzles related to the Geoart and some of the others in the vicinity. I ended up back there this week and had the opportunity to find a couple more caches, which again was fun.

What I really liked about the whole thing was that it was set up as something to teach new cachers how to get used to puzzle caches and get them on the road to thinking with getting coordinates. As well there are harder puzzles that I still cannot figure out but still want to.

Since my first trip I have been thinking about how to bring it to Salt Lake so that others could learn from it if they are new or just for a fun puzzle (and as a  tribute to Qumex as he did such a good job with that and other caches in the area). Before I left there a few days ago I messaged him about using it for a cache in Salt Lake and he gave me his blessing.

So here is the puzzle:

On the geocaching map go to N34 03.268 W118 18.055 which will take you to an intersection.  Zoom out and you will find the Geoart. With the Geoart, and what is below, you can put together the coordinates for the cache:

As with some other caches I have done addition is required on some. This is meant to be a fairly easy puzzle to solve so if you are running into trouble let me know.

Have fun and if you ever find yourself in the area of this GeoArt make sure to do some of these caches, or just travel there and do them just because.

The container is a typical container Qumex uses in what would be a typical host. As always make sure to use stealth.

Congratulations Kiltclan on the First to Find!
