Geocache Description:

The coordinates will take you to the old Toll which was built in the late 18th Century. Have a look at the number above the door – the first digit is A.

Next head to N55 46.128 W004 10.615 which is the site of a slightly newer toll built approximately 1780. This is now a dentist. Have a look at the alarm on the front of the building – If it is red B=4 and if it I blue B=3

Next head to N55 46.096 W004 10.595, this is the Torrance Hotel which was originally a mill which only operated for a couple of years before being relocated to Newhousemill. Look at the big sign at GZ. The 3rd number is C

Next head to N55 45.892 W004 10.528 which is the Montgomery Arms. This is the oldest surviving pub in East Kilbride and dates back to 1656. Have a look at the sign at GZ. The number of birds on it is D.

Next head to N55 45.902 W004 10.551 which is the old parish church. There is a record of a church building on this site since 1170 and the current church was built in 1774. On the sign, how many letters in the reverend’s surname? This is E

Next head to N55 45.685 W004 10.420 which is a roundabout – it couldn’t be an East Kilbride cache without mention of a roundabout! At GZ look around to see a bronze plaque with a year on it. The last digit of the year is F.

Next head to N55 45.679 W004 10.285. This is a very special site and the oldest one in east Kilbride. It is over 300 years old. If it painted white G =0 and if it is cream G=4

The final cache can be found at N55 4(Bx2).D(F+G)D W004 (Ex2).(A+F)(E+A)C

The final location can be driven to or a walk from the starting point.
