Geocache Description:

This cache will, hopefully, become part of the Village Signs series - a number is currently awaited for this.

The lovely village sign of West Hallam has representations of three coats of arms connected with former residents of the village. Unlike many village signs, this is not in the centre of the old village, but rather next to the main crossroads taking you to the village centre from the main Ilkeston to Belper Road.

This is a puzzle cache. The cache is not at the published coordinates, and you do not have to visit there.

There are two parts to the puzzle:

1. A jigsaw of the village sign.

2. Once you have completed the jigsaw, you will be given some further information, from which you will need to do some research to find the coordinates for the cache.

The cache is a 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from the posted/parking waypoint – the route to the cache can get very muddy.

If anybody would like to expand the Village Sign Series, please do. I would ask that you let Smokeypugs know first at www.villagesignseries.co.uk so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
