Enjoy a walk through historic Hitchin and discover the sites of the town's lock-ups, bridewells and police stations through the ages. Hear stories of the criminals and ne'er-do-wells that did time in Hitchin's cells from Ed2Ed's sidekick, Norris.

The cache is not at the published coordinates. You will first have to complete the nearby "Locked Up in Hitchin" Adventure Lab (https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/JAILTIME) by downloading the 'Adventure Lab' app from your mobile phone app store. [Android] [iOS] The Adventure Lab will take you to five historic locations around the town. At each you must answer a question about the location while remaining within 50 metres of that place. After the fifth correct answer you can reveal the coordinates to the container for this cache. Because the narrative of the story in the videos is in historical order, you will need to complete them in order - or Norris won't be able to reveal the location of the final to you!

The Adventure Lab and bonus cache find should take about an hour to complete from start to finish and you will walk about 2km. The physical container for this bonus cache is not far from the final location of the Adventure Lab. If you park in one of the town's car parks then you won't be too far from the start or finish of the trail.

The Adventure Lab will require a mobile device with geo-location capabilities (a GPSr!) and an Internet connection over WiFi (from one of the local establishments) or mobile data. There are five video clips to play, but they are each about 2 minutes long and will use only 50 MB of data. You can complete the Adventure Lab without watching the videos, but you cannot find this bonus cache unless you watch them. Headphones or an earpiece may be desired and a fully charged battery on your mobile device is strongly advised.
