BADGES
Did you know you are earning badges and belts as well as souvenirs every time you find a geocache? Geocache badges are a way to show the progress you have made with your geocache finds, and can give geocachers a fun way to enhance the game and set new fun goals.
There are badges awarded for many things, such as finding a 5 difficulty cache, attending a geocaching event, working on completion of the difficulty/terrain grid, or uploading photos to logs. There are over 40 different badges! However, each badge exists on 8 different levels, starting with bronze and ending with diamond. The more caches you find, the higher the level you can potentially achieve as you work your way up to the diamond level.
SOLVING THE PUZZLE
You’ll find the information you need by first viewing the geocaching badge information of any geocacher with over 100 finds at the project-gc website at
https://project-gc.com/ProfileStats/Jeremy#BadgeGen
The graphic shown below displays the badge statistics for Jeremy, one of the founders of geocaching.com. No need to log in, create a username or password, or sign up to view badge stats. You can substitute your own geocache username (or anyone else’s for that matter) for Jeremy’s name in the web address to view your own badge information. Or you could edit out "Jeremy" and enter our username of "Hack1of2" into the website address to see our badge profile. The web address is case sensitive so you need to be precise. When at the website you can hover your mouse over each badge to see how many qualifying caches have been found and how many more are needed to level-up! The page looks something like this:
At the bottom of that page at project-gc's website, click on “BADGE INFORMATION” as shown below. You'll need to do this to solve the puzzle:

DISPLAYING YOUR BADGES
You can view your badges in private, but many cachers choose to display their geocache badges right on their geocaching profile page. There are numerous ways to do that. We use project-gc.com, a partner organization with geocaching.com. For those who would like to display their geo-badges on their geocaching profile page, you can set it up on project-gc and your geocaching profile page will be updated for free on a weekly basis. Geocaching badges can provide renewed interest in and fun goals for the game that we all enjoy, for many more years of fun and adventure. If desired you could even post a screen capture of YOUR geo-badges with your log!
