The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Those coordinates are at the bottom of the 1000-foot deep open pit Dome mine. Although gold has been found there, the cache is elsewhere – high up a nearby tree.
To find the actual coordinates for this cache, you'll have to complete the "Art of Mining" Adventure Lab. You will first need to install the Adventure Lab app on your iPhone or Android device. Then go to https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/ArtOfMining to start your adventure. Navigate to each of the five locations in the adventure (waypoints are included on this bonus cache listing for your reference) and find the answer to the question at each location. Each correct answer will reveal two digits of the coordinates for this cache, in the format N 48° AB.CDE' W 081° FG.HIJ'.
The actual cache is a peanut butter jar covered in black tape, up in a tree. I honestly wasn't going to make it a tree climb, but good climbing trees are so rare around here that I couldn't resist. Near the cache, you'll come across a ventilation shaft from the underground operations at the Dome Mine.
