Geocache Description:

In the ‘brick’ of time…I mean…in the ‘nick’ of time!

“English idioms, proverbs, and expressions are an important part of everyday English. They come up all the time in both written and spoken English.”  Quote from Education First website, https://www.ef.com/wwen/english-resources/english-idioms/

What are idioms…you may ask.  They are expressions that are used often in which the words used have a different (figurative) meaning than what is typical (literal).  For example, if someone says, “it’s raining cats and dogs,” they do not mean it’s literally raining cats and dogs, but rather it’s raining really hard.  You and I hear and/or use idioms every day, and likely lots of them!  What is interesting to me is that most of us use these expressions, but don’t understand the origins behind them.  The idiom this cache is based on, ‘in the nick of time,’ seems to have its origin in the late 16th century, and refers to a precise measurement used in that day called a ‘nick’.  A nick was the precise or exact location where something should be.  Therefore, ‘in the nick of time’ came to refer to the exact or precise moment in time something should have or needed to occur.

Since this cache is about idioms, each of the stages is named using popular idioms.

You are looking for three separate objects, the last being the cache: a small lock-n-lock container.  The first two objects are small as well, each containing coordinates to the next location.  Be sure you look at the 'Waypoints' section. As mentioned, each stage is named using an idiom which may help give a clue as to what you are looking for! Parking is available in the Belfair Neighborhood’s pool parking lot.  The cache’s first set of coordinates is not far away.

Congrats to Ike13 for earning FTF honors!
