Join me on a social hike to the North Rim of the Campbell Creek Gorge in the Anchorage area!
I really enjoyed the January hike at Thunderbird Falls, and thought we could check out the Campbell Creek Gorge for the next one!
We'll meet in the parking lot at 10:00 and give attendees until 10:30 to show up and socialize. Depending on group size, we will hike as one unit or split into smaller groups.
This is meant to be a social hike, and hikers can go at whatever pace they'd like on the trail! Come make some caching friends, or say hi to the ones you already have. A link to the Alaska Tourism information page for this spot can be found here: https://www.alaska.org/detail/hike-to-campbell-creek-gorge.
I'll bring a few thermoses of Hot Cocoa to drink at the viewing point for the gorge. Please post your will attend so I know how much to bring. Cachers, please bring your own mug.
Note: This is a hike in winter. It is up to the cacher to make sure they have appropriate gear for any hike in Alaska. For February, I would recommend gloves, hat, a buff, and layers depending on temperature. Depending on icyness, I would recommend microspikes for traction.
