Ares is the Greek God of War, usually depicted wearing a helmet and carrying a spear. He is the son of Zeus and Hera, and fathered many children, including the Amazons, and the goddess Harmonia. He is an unpopular god, and where he is mentioned in the literature, he is often humiliated in some way. The vulture is associated with Ares.
