The buildings at Newington Armory are heritage listed meaning that no changes can be made to them. But they can be reused! Just like this tree, it gained another purpose over time, hosting another tree. Some of the ongoing reuses of buildings include:
An unusual one off reuse was for the filming of the Mel Gibson directed “Hacksaw Ridge”. The scenes for Fort Jackson were all filmed using the buildings and environment of Newington Armory.
