The listed coordinates will bring you to a bridge within Kuirau Park. You will not find a cache here. Instead, you will need to complete the Kuirau Park Adventure Lab. Once you have worked your way through the adventure, you will be given the final coordinates for this ‘bonus’ cache.
Kuirau Park is situated on the edge of the Rotorua CBD. It is a 10 minute walk from the city centre. The land was gifted by Ngati Whakaue to the township of Rotorua in the late nineteenth century. The reserve was in development during the Depression years of the 1930s. However, the outbreak of World War ll brought work to a halt, and the park fell back into scrub and disrepair. In the 1950s, work resumed and the park was restored and returned to the public once more. Today, Kuirau park is a family-friendly space for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Adventure Labs: Geocaching Adventure Labs are a type of Lab Cache. They were originally developed to offer private or time-limited geocaches. Examples include business partnerships, Mega-Events, and other community events.
In 2019, Geocaching HQ extended the Adventure Lab experiment globally. A select number of geocaching organizations and at least 500 qualified geocachers were given the chance to create Adventures. These Adventures will remain active for at least six months, or potentially longer, for the community to enjoy.

2. Log in with your Geocaching.com account.
3. Select a nearby Adventure from the directory, or click here
4. Navigate to the Adventure location and follow the instructions in the description.
The Cache: The final coordinates may be unreliable due to tree cover. The cache container is a camouflaged film cannister and is not suitable for swag or TBs. Please bring your own pen/cil. Kuirau Park is an active geothermal field. There are hot pools and open bodies of water in this environment. Exercise caution and good judgement when visiting the park. At all times, stay to the paths and follow all warnings and instructions.
